Looking to Assist?

The Gold Coast Sikh Council has obtained Development Approval for the establishment of Gold Coast’s first official Gurdwara & Sikh Temple – a Community Education Centre open to people of all faiths and genders.

Located at 9 – 11 Shepparton Road, Helensvale, the Gold Coast Gurdwara & Sikh Temple will be based approximately 20 minutes’ drive from Surfers Paradise, and almost half way between Coolangatta and Brisbane’s Logan Road Gurdwara; making the Centre ideally located and easily accessible to all communities of the Gold Coast.

 ..

The Gold Coast Sikh Council, a not-for-profit public charitable organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission (ACNC), will administer the Gold Coast Sikh Cultural Fund (ABN: 25 117 237 021). This fund is also registered with the ACNC and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) by the ATO.

As such all Donations and Gift amounts of AU$2 or more are tax deductible for Australian Tax Payers.

The Gold Coast Sikh Council is now seeking assistance from the community to cover the costs associated with the development of this historic project – Gold Coast’s first Gurdwara Sikh Temple – which is estimated at AU$2,000,000.

Donors who contribute $5,000 or more on or before 31-Dec-2017 will have the option of having their name (or a nominated name such as ‘in remembrance’) noted on a Honorary Board that will be placed within the Langar Hall of the Gurdwara – the ‘Foundation Donors’ Board – which will forever remember contributors in the following categories:

  • $5,000 to $10,000
  • $10,001 to $20,000
  • $20,001 to $50,000
  • $50,001 to $100,000

Separate individualised ‘Foundation Donor’ Plaques will be offered for each contributor of $100,001 to $150,000.

Contributors of $150,001 or more will have a further option to have an additional individualised plaque attributed to a Classroom (limited to 5). eg. ‘This Classroom was proudly donated by ABC’.

A Donors ‘total contribution’ amount can be cumulative until 31-Dec-17 – eg. if you make a $10,000 donation today, and a further $10,001 donation prior to 31-Dec-17, then we will consider your donation as $20,001 for the purpose of the Honorary Board, giving the Donor of then having their name in the $20,001 to $50,000 category.
